Champion Basketball School of Queensland Tournament 2009

October 23, 2009
Dakabin’s senior girls basketball team competed on 17th to 20th  September. The girls played very well and never gave up during the games. They played 9 hard games in 4 days. It was a shame a few injuries affected the team in the last day.

The defence shown by the girls was fantastic around the Key. It was great team spirit shown by the grade 11 biology girls who came off the biology camp and played a game on Friday at 4.00 pm.

Amber injured her ankle and stepped into the coaching role for the last two days.  It was the final school states competition for the year 12 students and they thanked the other team members for allowing them this opportunity.

We would like to thank the scorer Jason Woods and assistant coach Nathan Woods plus Simon Foo for all their help. As a group they were a pleasure to manage and coach.

The team won two very close games and came from behind to win, it was a very close knit, never say die team attitude which achieved these wins and Dakabin High is very proud of you. We came 8th out of 23 teams.

Great effort.
